The Territorial Regeneration Forum Connects Science, Production, and Pathways to Climate Resilience in the Cerrado

Organized by Cerrado das Águas, the event will take place on September 1 and 2 in Patrocínio, Minas Gerais, featuring panels, debates, an exhibition of scientific research, and a Field Day.
On September 1 and 2, 2026, the Cerrado Mineiro region will host the Territorial Regeneration Forum – Connecting Production Systems in the Cerrado. Organized by Cerrado das Águas (CCA), with support from SEBRAE and Landscape Accelerator Brazil (LAB), the event will bring together farmers, cooperatives, companies, researchers, financial institutions, government representatives, and civil society organizations to discuss ways to reconcile agricultural production, natural resource conservation, and regional development.
The program will consist of two complementary sessions. On September 1, at Espaço Cerrado in Patrocínio (MG), the Forum will feature lectures, panel discussions, roundtables, presentations of scientific research, and networking opportunities among different sectors. On September 2, participants will move on to the Workshop on Investments for Regeneration, an interactive session that combines field experiences with structured dialogue among producers, companies, financial institutions, government agencies, and civil society, building a shared understanding of the pathways to enable a regenerative transition at scale.
The proposal is to turn knowledge into action and strengthen a shared vision for a Cerrado Mineiro that is more resilient, competitive, and better prepared to respond to changes in climate and markets.
The Territory at the Center of Discussions
The Cerrado Mineiro faces the challenge of expanding its productive capacity while conserving water, restoring soils, protecting biodiversity, and strengthening the communities that are part of the territory. In this context, territorial regeneration emerges as a systemic strategy that integrates regenerative agriculture, conservation and restoration of native vegetation, water security, innovation, science, financing, and institutional cooperation.
The Forum was established in the context of the Cerrado Mineiro Regenerative Landscape Corridor, a study launched by Cerrado das Águas in April 2025 in Brasília (DF). The data generated identify the corridor as a priority territory for building climate resilience in the region. Thus, the Forum aims to strengthen a permanent platform for territorial regeneration, bringing together production chains, economic sectors, and organizations around a common agenda.
Program Connects Production, Science, and Capital
On the first day, the program will address strategic topics for the region’s development, such as regenerative agriculture, water management, biodiversity, climate intelligence, innovation, markets, ESG indicators, and sustainable financing.
The discussions will also aim to demonstrate how adopting regenerative practices can boost productivity and the adaptability of farms, add value to local products, and meet the new demands of domestic and international markets.
Another focus of the Forum will be bringing together producers, companies, buyers, banks, investors, and organizations responsible for developing and financing solutions. The goal is to broaden the dialogue on mechanisms capable of supporting the regenerative transition and recognizing the environmental assets produced in the region.
Exhibition of Scientific Papers and Experiments
The Forum will also provide a platform for the presentation of scientific papers, projects, experiments, and solutions related to territorial regeneration.
The exhibition will feature initiatives focused on regenerative agriculture, ecological restoration, water resource conservation, biodiversity, environmental monitoring, climate intelligence, and other areas that contribute to building more resilient and productive landscapes.
Researchers, students, technicians, farmers, cooperatives, companies, public institutions, and civil society organizations are all welcome to participate. The goal is to highlight the knowledge that is already being generated and applied, foster exchange across different fields, and bridge the gap between research, practice, and investment. Each project presented can help inspire new initiatives, expand partnerships, and strengthen the application of science in decision-making regarding the territory.
Workshop on Investments for Regeneration Turns Assessment into Collective Action
On September 2, the program continues with the Territorial Regeneration Workshop, held at a farm in the region. Based on the findings of the Cerrado das Águas investment readiness assessment and a mapping of the priorities of producers in the Cerrado Mineiro for the regenerative transition—both conducted as part of the partnership with LAB— producers, companies, financial institutions, and government representatives will discuss their perspectives in thematic roundtables, building a shared understanding of what is needed to make the regenerative transition viable at scale.
The workshop reinforces one of the Forum’s central principles: territorial regeneration must be built on the integration of evidence, technical knowledge, producers’ experience, and concrete conditions to enable financing and partnerships in each landscape.
Collective Building for the Future
Among the expected outcomes are the strengthening of the Regenerative Corridor as a benchmark for systemic management and climate resilience; the creation of new opportunities for financing, market access, and ESG strategies; and the formation of a network of producers and influential leaders.

About Cerrado das Águas
The Cerrado das Águas Consortium (CCA) is a collaborative platform that brings together various sectors, including businesses, government, and civil society. The CCA is an initiative of the coffee supply chain that seeks to build water resilience in the Cerrado Mineiro region through strategies that promote optimal land use, ensuring the continuity of coffee production in the region and mitigating the impact of climate change.
Through the Investment Program for Conscious Producers (PIPC), the CCA team guides, supports, and encourages producers to implement strategies for providing ecosystem services, with a focus on improving the availability of water resources for all producers whose properties are adjacent to a specific watershed, thereby making the region resilient to climate change. As a result, the CCA has 202 hectares of conserved native vegetation, 4,000 hectares of farmland in the process of transitioning to regenerative agriculture, and 150,000 people benefiting from the program.

About LAB
Landscape Accelerator Brazil (LAB) is a private-sector-led, multisectoral platform organized jointly by WBCSD, BCG, and CEBDS, dedicated to accelerating the transition to regenerative landscapes in Brazil. LAB works to establish blended finance mechanisms, monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) systems, and alignment between corporate goals and public and financial policies.
In 2026, Cerrado das Águas became the first Brazilian pilot project of Investment Pathways, a LAB process that seeks to transform landscape programs into bankable investment opportunities. The partnership resulted in an investment maturity assessment and a proposed fundraising roadmap, expanding the opportunities for scaling up the Cerrado Mineiro regenerative corridor.
