Funding in support of this Agreement is made available from the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (“CEPF”), a joint initiative of Conservation International (“CI”), the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (“IBRD”), the Global Environment Facility through IBRD as implementing agency and through CI as implementing agency (“GEF”), the Government of Japan through IBRD as administrator of funds provided by the Ministry of Finance (“Japan”), the French Development Agency (l'Agence Française de Développement, “AFD”) and the European Union (“EU”).

The central objective of the PIPC is to establish and implement a strategy to restore the provision of ecosystem services in the basin in the long term through a process of effective engagement with producers and local stakeholders.

  • Cerrado region of Minas Gerais - Engagement of stakeholders, communication about the CCA

  • Cerrado Seed Networks - Partnership in course development. Cerrado Seed Course. Training for collectors and restorers.

  • EMATER - Property diagnosis and evaluation of PIPs (Individual Property Plans).

  • LAPIG/UFG - Impact analysis of basins of action.

  • Federal University of Viçosa (Rio Paranaíba Campus) - Partnership in the construction and execution of the workshop to update strategies for smart agriculture.

  • 57 producers

  • 495 men and 434 women participated in the course "Seeds of the Cerrado - Training of Seed Collectors and Restorers of the Cerrado" and 43 producers and 2 women received training and guidance on climate-smart agriculture strategies.
